How has the Program you are involved with helped you during your academic years here at Dominguez Hill?
The STEM Scholar Program has helped me in many ways. In my first semester, a personal situation occurred during the first semester at CSUDH. I was planning to drop out but I received an email from Noemi about advising appointments with Dr. Kram. I took it because I didn't know what to do and it came at the right moment. I took it as a sign. I was lost and I knew I needed help. Dr. Kram was able to help me with my situation and with her help, I was able to continue with my school. I am forever grateful to the Stem Scholar Program and Dr. Kram because if you need support or feel lost you can always reach out and ask for help.

What keeps you motivated and positive throughout life’s hardships?
When I come to hardship in life. I often think of people who don't have much and the opportunities that could be given to them but in my case, I feel I have a lot more than most people and so many opportunities laying around. It gives me motivation and positive vibes on what I have and because of that, I try my best to take advantage of what comes.

What advice would you like to give to your fellow scholars?
A piece of advice I would like to give to my fellow scholars is to take care of their mental health. School is important but not as important as your mental health.

What are your plans after graduation?
My plans after graduation are to first take a break from school. I want to return strongly on my next step of becoming a Math Teacher. Doing so I first want to self-care and enjoy myself before going strong on the REAL Program in January 2023.
