Career Goal: I am not 100% sure. I am still trying to figure that out.

Hobbies: I enjoy making handmade soap and other bath and body products.

How has TTS helped you?
TTS has helped in so many ways, where do I begin? TTS has helped me by encouraging me to stay in school despite all classes being virtual. They have provided counseling and advice on how to effectively manage a college life/personal life balance. Lastly, TTS has been there for me and allowed me to vent about my struggles during the semester and more importantly, they have been there to celebrate my successes.

What keeps you motivated and positive throughout life’s hardships?
One of things that motivates me throughout life’s hardships is my family. While I am working towards my bachelor’s degree for me, I am also doing it for my family. I want to be a positive role model for my daughters and granddaughter. I also want to show them that it is never too late to accomplish a goal or a dream.

What advice would you like to give to your fellow scholars?
While the Covid-19 pandemic has altered our “normal” way of life and especially made attending school more difficult, there are resources available to us at CSUDH. TTS and Trio SSS have helped me tremendously by being there to help me navigate this new normal. Don’t be afraid or nervous to reach out and ask for support.

What are your plans after graduation?
I graduate in 2022 and hopefully the pandemic will no longer be an issue. II would like to take some time off and travel a little before getting a job.
