How has MSTI/WISE helped you?
The MSTI and WISE programs have given me the support to keep going with my education. When on campus I often used the computer available to do my work and print out my assignments. They have also helped me during personal moments when I needed a positive outlook on my future.
What keeps you motivated and positive throughout life’s hardships?
My husband and my kids have kept me going through life’s hardships. I look at them and know that getting through hard moments is necessary for the well being of my family.
What advice would you like to give to your fellow scholars?
I am a returning student, it took me 6 years to return to school. My advice to my fellow scholars would be to keep going. All the hardships and struggle will be worth it in the end. During hard times it is important to be connected with family and have the support of loved ones even if it can only be with a video call.
What are your plans after graduation?
My plans after graduation are to continue my education. I am hoping to enter the teaching program offered at CSUDH and obtain both my masters and teaching credential.
